Trash talk 101

Filipinos are known to be very very I mean VERY competitive when it comes to sports or things that involve competing. Due to the advancement of technology as well as games, most Filipino teenagers are glued to their computer screens and play around 3 to 4 hours of online games everyday, and with that gaming time, just like chicken with rice for the Filipinos, trash talking will be there. Most of the games Filipino teens play nowadays are online first person shooters. Actually, i'm one of those trash talking teens back when I was in high school. Me and my friends were really fond of playing DotA or Defense of the Ancients. There was never a day where me and my friends would say, "Let's not play DotA today" and that means everyday we were trash talking each other. For 8 years of playing different games and trash talking everyone who was dumb or a noob (newbie) when playing, I learned a few things here and there to really get into their nerves. Here are some things that I learned.

1. FIND THINGS YOU COULD USE AGAINST THE OTHER PERSON  - It's either with their IGN (In-Game-Name), or if you know the player personally, remember embarrassing things that he or she might have done in the past and make the player remember it

2. THINK AND RESPOND FAST - Think and plan the things that you will say to the other player ahead of time. Do not have an awkward silence moment when your opponent is saying things back to you, respond and respond fast.

3. DON'T LOOK LIKE YOU'RE AFFECTED - The other player will also trash talk back because you started it so even if the other person says things that are very hurting, smile and look like a smug. (this tip is really effective)

4.DON'T TAKE THINGS PERSONALLY - It's just a game, it's just trash talk. If you know those things are true, don't let those words go through your brain. Just laugh it out and enjoy friendly but harmless trash talking with your friends.

These are the few trash talking tips that I could give you right now! Let me practice trash talking again so I could update this blog in the future. hehehe.
